Today marks the final day of my bike tour for the year 2022, and I’m up early taking the opportunity to see the lake in the morning light and just be present for a moment in this beautiful place I’ve been so fortunate to find along the way, reflecting on the entire journey so far over a cup of coffee I made myself.
It was a very nice trip with beautiful scenery along the way, excellent infrastructure and no incidents. I was blessed with good weather almost every day, good health and a reliable rented bike to bring me so far from Verona with just a puncture in between.
Camping Toblacher See is a great option to make your base and explore the area for as long as you desire. They have all the amenities to feel comfortable while also being closer to the nature. It's a modern camping with everything you will expect from one, very clean and well organized and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's a bit more expensive than Camping Olympia I stayed in yesterday but the location is worth it. The price for a person&tent/day and all taxes was 25 EUR in 2022.
Was hard to stop in San Candido considering how nice the weather was for cycling but the touring days have finished same as the budget for this year.
I arrived at the San Candido train station just in time to catch the 11:14 train to Verona via Fortezza where I had to change trains.
I’ve already reserved a tent spot at Camping Castel San Pietro for tonight, so we’re heading there. But no rush—we’ve got plenty of time, so let’s just relax and enjoy the ride on this beautiful afternoon along the banks of Adige.
But before going to dinner I had to return the bike to the renting agency Itinera Bike & Travel. I was very happy with the bike and their customer service, had no mechanical issues along the way and the price of 20 EUR/day for this nice red touring bike was decent. I am definitely recommending them and personally will rent from them again in the future when I return to Italy to continue the EV7 route from where I left off. Before leaving I asked them for a good pizza place to celebrate the end of my trip and indeed their recommendation was spot on. Thank You!
