On the first of May this year, I ended my visit to the French overseas department, La Reunion. This rather small island is located in the Indian Ocean. By renting a car, my friend and I had the oportunity to drive around the island. Our last stop was the capital St. Denis. We were on our way to the airport, but decided to spend some time in the city.
As we walked the streets to look at some of the old colonial houses, we came across street art as well. This is some of the paintings we found. Some of these are rather good. Some narrow alleys were covered with graffiti. Quite colorful wih lots of small details to study.
The photo above shows a small fish on the pavement. I placed the tip of my shoe on the photo so that you get an idea of the size of it.
We didn't walk to far from where we had parked our car. All the shops were closed, since it was a holiday. Only a few cafes were open, but we did see the beautiful cathedral and othere notable buildings.
