The Sunken Cemetery is one of the popular tourist spots in Camiguin Island, Philippines.
During the volcanic birth of Mt. Vulcan that lasted from 1871 to about 1875, some areas in the town of Bonbon subsided, sinking the cemetery of the town to below sea level. The place is commemorated by a huge cross erected in 1982.
There is a cross-marker in the sea marking the spot of the actual cemetery. This is reachable by boat, though the actual graves are already covered in lava and corals. From the marker there is a nice view of the mountains in the Camiguin mainland.
Took the chance to travel this part of our land so I could get the chance to see personaly the beauty on it. This place must be consider in your bucket list of you want an amazing adventure.
