Hi folks,

This is my entry to the #MarketFriday by @dswigle and for those who want to participate I leave you the link below.

About a month ago I was enjoying my holidays in O Grove (Galicia) where I enjoyed some great moments with my friends like a catamaran trip eating mussels surrounded by very greedy seagulls. Sorry for using this photo of the seagull in many of my posts, but I feel very proud of this picture.

Or sunsets on the beach with spectacular views.

Market Friday 2023-06-23

On Friday 23rd June, in the morning when I went to the marina to buy the tickets for the catamaran trip, I found that the stall I was interested in was still closed.

So I walked back to the flat I had rented with my friends for the holiday, but I saw that there was a big bustle of people in the distance and it was then that I discovered that there was a big market in one of the town squares and I decided to walk around it.

The area I entered the square was mainly full of clothes stalls and as it was the middle of summer, the colourful clothes were bright and cheerful as is normal for this time of year.

Later on, as I walked through the market, I came across stalls that were a bit more eye-catching, such as this stall selling accessories that use esparto grass as a material for making bags and other accessories, which is very typical in this part of Spain.

And another of the stalls that caught my attention was this stall of household items made from clay because in the area where I live in the market there is no stall of this type of clay utensils.

In addition, as is normal in most markets, there were many seasonal fruit stalls that looked very appetising in the early morning, combined with the smells coming from the flower stalls.

And inside the food market, as a good seafaring town, there were a few stalls selling fresh seafood and fish, although the price was quite high.

A gift for my friend Miguel

After going all the way round the market, I noticed that the sun was scorching, that my friends and I were going to go for a walk on the island of La Toja afterwards and that my friend Miguel didn't have a cap. So, knowing that his birthday was coming up, I went to one of the stalls where there were caps for sale.

After looking through the caps I decided to buy this cap, which I suppose is not an original Nike cap, because it only cost me 8 euros after haggling at the flea market for its original value of 12 euros.

Finally, my friend enjoyed the cap on the walk we took around the island of La Toja as you can see in the following pictures.

Best regards and happy market Friday.
