Voloskana Festival
Yesterday evening I exposed some of my photography on a brand new festival which took place in Volosko, Croatia along with many other #visual #artists like: Claudio Frank, "Mala soba" exhibition, "Mare Blu" - a project by Marijana Varašanec, Žana Boyd, Barbara Špiljak, Željko Čurčić, Loredana Bradaschia, Nika Laginja & Petra Rožanić.
Except the visual program, there was also a rich #music program with: Vedran Ružić Trio, Katarina Jurić, Reinkarnacija, Jena The Man, Marcel, Super Saiyan, Soulfreq & DJ Element.
Sanja Prodan made it all even more attractive with the fire dance show.
There were also local restaurants involved - for this special evening they exited their comfort zones, where they usually serve #food, & set their bars in the street & served it there on the spot so they actually served street food! Those were: Veranda, Moho, Valle Losca, Plavi podrum, Pub-fish market "Volosko", Boem, Kao kakao & Kon-Tiki.
Positive side of the festival
Many people gathered on one place exchanging energies, knowledge & experiences, dancing, celebrating, falling in #love, enjoying the #life, meeting old friends & getting to know the new ones...
Negative side of the festival
A lot of plastic trash scattered around finally ending up in the #sea, no workers engaged in collecting this trash nor changing the full bags in bins with the empty ones, no #vegetarian or #vegan choices in the street food stands of those restaurants, no free drinks nor meals for the artists who made this #festival great...

I have this fascination with the ecological natural materials transformed by the hands of men into the objects of transport with no motor but powered by the #energy of the wind so I often shoot those #traditional, wooden boats with sails.
The exhibited photos were made during the restoration of an old boat, type of "kvarnerski guc", made in 1912 in Sušak (Rijeka), Croatia. The restoration has been done by the owners - Mr. Loris Rubinić & his son Josip - in their private workshop. I was lucky to be there & witness their exquisite work been done.
The photos are printed on #canvas with no frame, left to be & made to look like sails. All the photos are for sale & you're welcome to ask me questions about them. I'll happily answer them & send them to you anywhere in the world!
