How does one start a virtual bike-ride around the world? Roll dices to find a starting point? Check blogs for the most beautiful places in the world? Read guides such as “Thousand places you should see before you die”?

Or should I better create a virtual bicycle? With or without batteries? Imagine an ever-lasting battery power, a bicycle perpetuum mobile!!! Should it be a gravel bike? Or rather a real travel bike? Stable, made for heavy-duty cycling with a big load! Or should I rather imagine a five-wheel bike with 200 guinea pigs doing all the work? This would definitely give me great opportunities of earning money while traveling. Every circus would give me a chance to start my career as animal trainer.

But still more opportunities! Maybe I should look for virtual co-cyclists? I could ask Egan Bernal or Annemiek van Vleuten to lead the pack. Probably, I’d need 500 guinea pigs then to keep up with them! Or maybe I just pass by in nice pubs and bars and invite anybody to join the tour. A glass of local drink per kilometre done? Great, we’re on our way!

And what about food? Buy a gas-powered cooker and prepare some pasta? Or take a crypto-based debitcard and visit restaurants as long there is a bull market for virtual money? What shall I do when there is a bear market? Grill some bear claws like Old Shatterhand? Pick virtual berries? Starve virtually?

Question, questions, questions…

How about starting with rolling a virtual dice, a so-called random number generator. So here a first hint, where this trip around the world will start:

  • Lat: N 0x.y degrees
  • Long: E 0xy.yz degrees.

Dices will be rolled again when writing the next post.

And what about answering all the other questions? I’d like to ask you - the readers of this blog - yes, YOU!!!, to suggest what to do and where to go. And maybe you’ll even have some more questions and photos (!) helping to design a marvelous virtual trip around the world. Looking forward to your comments!

Btw – here’s the bike I use to prepare for this trip.

It is a velotraum – German for VELODREAM. ISN'T THAT A MATCH??!!
