This winter I visited the city of Vladimir. This place is located far enough from my city. To get to Vladimir by car, I need to spend about three and a half hours. This is if the roads are in good condition.
If there was a heavy snowfall or ice, then everything on the road increases even more.
We went to the city of Vladimir on business. Nothing special, but it was important for us to come to this big city, spend the night there and go back. Of course, not forgetting about the important things there.
But deeds are not the reason for this article.
The occasion is the beautiful old city of Vladimir in winter dress. In winter, New Year and Christmas are celebrated in Russia.
This is a reason to decorate the city with lanterns and garlands.
One of the main tourist streets of the city is Moskovskaya Street. There is a significant monument of ancient architecture, the Golden Gate, on it. This is one of the towers of the ancient city, which was built before the Mongol invasion. The city fell in a terrible battle with the Tatar-Mongol troops, but some stone objects have survived. Including this tower. This tower now houses a museum.
In the exposition of the museum there is a famous diorama on which the moment of the battle of the Tatar-Mongols and the Russian Vladimir wars is depicted.
We walked around the city enjoying the novelty of sensations. A skating rink was organized in the park next to the main temple of Vladimir. All paths of the park were covered with ice and satisfied townspeople skated on them. Hot drinks were sold here and there.
Music was heard.
There was a festive atmosphere in the air.
It was very pleasant to visit the city of Vladimir in the middle of winter.
