Great Salt

Autumn is a very beautiful time of the year. Red-yellow leaves, blue skies and crystal clear air. Not far from the city of Kostroma there is a small settlement, which is now called Nekrasovskoe, and a little earlier this large village was called Bolshiye Soli.

The thing is that this town stands on the Solonitsa River. A large amount of salt is concentrated along the banks of this river. In ancient times, salt was a great wealth. In some places, salt replaced money. The importance of salt was due to the fact that it was almost the only way to preserve food.

Salt mines stood along the Solonitsa River. Salt was mined there day and night. This craft has made these places rich. In addition, there are healing mineral springs here. All this makes these places very attractive to live in.

Solyam failed to become a big city due to competition with cities such as Yaroslavl and Kostroma. But while remaining a province, Big Salts were built up with beautiful temples and other architectural objects. By the way, the famous architect Vorotilov was born in this place, who built a lot of beautiful buildings in Kostroma and Nerekhta.

Good weather brought me to these places. I decided to walk along the banks of the Solonitsa River to enjoy a sunny day.

In autumn, such days are rare. Since the village of Bolshiye Soli is not large, then right within the boundaries of the village, going to the shore, you find yourself in nature. Old boats stand along the shore. Local residents are willing to hunt for fishing.

Bright yellow foliage on the trees. An already darkened but still beautiful carpet of fallen leaves rustles underfoot.

The cold autumn air and warm rays of the sun create a unique atmosphere. The air is clean and transparent. The sun sometimes gets lost in the clouds and then you understand that autumn is ending and winter will soon be.
