Amazing views and the highlight: the Farnsburg ruins with over 700 years of history. Some archaeological finds indicate that a building already existed on the prominent rocky peak as early as the 12th or 13th century. Farnsburg Castle was extensively renovated between 2019 and 2023. After about a 20-minute walk through the forest, we reached the castle. The Counts of Tierstein must have been delighted with the view from their new castle dating back to around 1330.
