Czas na opisanie najbardziej turystycznej atrakcji, czyli zatoki Ha Long wpisanej na listę UNESCO. Jeśli nigdy nie byliście w Wietnamie i nic o nim nie słyszeliście, to na pewno przewinęło Wam się gdzieś zdjęcie z tej zatoki. Zajmuje ona powierzchnię 1500 km2, na której znajduje się ok 1900 wysp i wysepek.

It is time to describe the most popular tourist attraction, Ha Long Bay, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you have never been to Vietnam and have never heard of it, you have surely seen a photo of this bay somewhere. It covers an area of 1,500 km2, with approximately 1,900 islands and islets.

Zatokę można zwiedzać wybierając jedną z wielu wycieczek dostępnych na miejscu. My nocowaliśmy na wyspie Cat Ba, na którą dotarliśmy nocnym autobusem z Sapy. Dlatego zwiedzanie to głównie zatoka Lan Ha Bay, która ponoć jest spokojniejsza. Oczywiście na trasie była również zatoka Ha Long. Moim zdaniem w tak krótkim czasie nie da się wszystkiego zobaczyć. Dlatego chyba niezależnie gdzie będzie punkt startowy to i tak będzie to ciekawe.
Na pewno hotel, w którym się zatrzymacie przedstawi Wam różne opcje, wiec nie ma sensu rezerwowania tego w Polsce. My dostaliśmy trochę lepszą ofertę cenową od właściciela restauracji, do której akurat poszliśmy coś zjeść. Można płynąć na kilka godzin, można na cały dzień, można na dwa dni z noclegiem na statku, można płynąć mniejszym jachtem luksusowym, można większym statkiem. Można po drodze zwiedzać różne atrakcje. Opcji do wyboru jest naprawdę dużo.

You can explore the bay by choosing one of the many tours available on site. We stayed on Cat Ba Island, which we reached by night bus from Sapa. Therefore, we mainly visited Lan Ha Bay, which is said to be quieter. Of course, Ha Long Bay was also on the route. In my opinion, it is impossible to see everything in such a short time. That is why, regardless of where the starting point is, it will still be interesting.
The hotel where you stay will certainly present you with various options, so there is no point in booking this in Poland. We got a slightly better price from the owner of the restaurant where we happened to go for a bite to eat. You can go for a few hours, for a whole day, for two days with accommodation on the ship, you can go on a smaller luxury yacht or a larger ship. You can visit various attractions along the way. There are really many options to choose from.

Wycieczka powyżej kosztowała nas około 90 PLN od osoby za cały dzień pływania po zatoce, do tego lunch i trochę różnych atrakcji. Jak później sprawdziliśmy to spływ Dunajcem jest dużo droższy.
Zapisaliśmy się chyba dzień przed. Mieliśmy szczęście, bo dzień wcześniej były ulewy, a w dniu wycieczki pogoda praktycznie idealna.
Rano o umówionej godzinie pod nasz hotel podjechał autobus i przewodnik przyszedł z listą, żeby zabrać wszystkich zapisanych. Następnie pojechaliśmy do portu, gdzie czekał na nas nasz statek. Tam dostaliśmy bilety a następnie udaliśmy się na pokład. Zauważyłam, że Azjaci schowali się do środka, a pozostali, czyli tak zwana biała rasa weszła na samą górę gotowa do opalania się.

The trip cost us about 25$ per person for a whole day of sailing around the bay, plus lunch and some other attractions. As we later found out, rafting down the Dunajec River is much more expensive.
We signed up the day before. We were lucky because there had been heavy rain the day before, but on the day of the trip, the weather was practically perfect.
In the morning, at the agreed time, a bus arrived at our hotel and the guide came with a list to pick up everyone who had signed up. Then we went to the port, where our ship was waiting for us. There we got our tickets and then went on board. I noticed that the Asians hid inside, while the rest, the so-called white race, went to the top, ready to sunbathe.

My również. Po pierwsze z góry było całkiem dobrze widać, po drugie trochę nam brakowało słońca. Oczywiście krem z filtrem UV i picie dużych ilości wody to podstawa.

Na początku minęliśmy wioskę na wodzie. Ludzie tam żyją i pracują. Niestety nie schodziliśmy nigdzie, ale za duża grupa na takie atrakcje.

Natomiast było mniej statków turystycznych niż się spodziewałam, chociaż wszędzie pisano, że bardzo tłoczno.

Pierwszy przystanek do wpłynięcie do małej zatoczki, gdzie można było popływać i zjechać na ślizgawce do wody. I tu też kolejna różnica "wypłynęła", bo praktycznie wszyscy Azjaci założyli kamizelki ratunkowe. A pozostała część wycieczki nie. W tym też ja. I myślę sobie teraz, że to trochę błąd. Umiem pływać, ale ostatni raz pływałam z rok temu. Mimo wszystko mam zaufanie do swoich możliwości i wiem, że nie porwałabym się na coś ponad moje siły, ale muszę przyznać, że z łódki do brzegu było trochę daleko i musiałam porządnie odsapnąć.
Poza tym to nie basen z ratownikiem. Mam wrażenie, że jakby komuś zaczęło się coś dziać, to nie było tam nikogo obserwującego, ani pewnie posiadającego umiejętności ratownika. W miarę trwania rejsu sporo ludzi spożywało alkohol, więc to też mogło potencjalnie zwiększać ryzyko jakiegoś problemu.
Następnym punktem programu było pływanie kajakami po części zatoki i przepływanie przez jaskinie.

The first stop was to sail into a small cove where you could swim and slide into the water. And here another difference ‘came to light’, because practically all Asians put on life jackets. The rest of the group did not. Including me. And now I think that was a bit of a mistake. I can swim, but the last time I did was a year ago. Still, I have confidence in my abilities and I know I wouldn't attempt anything beyond my capabilities, but I must admit that it was quite a distance from the boat to the shore and I had to catch my breath.
Besides, it's not a swimming pool with a lifeguard. I have the impression that if something happened to someone, there was no one there to watch or who probably had lifeguard skills. During the cruise, a lot of people were drinking alcohol, so that could also potentially increase the risk of a problem.
The next item on the agenda was kayaking around part of the bay and through caves.

Udało nam się nawet zobaczyć małpę, co się zwie langur wietnamski i naprawdę trzeba mieć szczęście, żeby ten gatunek obserwować w przyrodzie. Niestety nie miałam ze sobą aparatu na kajaku, a podjęta próba zrobienia zdjęcia telefonem okazała się raczej porażką. We even managed to see a monkey called a Vietnamese langur, and you really need to be lucky to observe this species in the wild. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me on the kayak, and my attempt to take a photo with my phone turned out to be rather unsuccessful. Kiedy wróciliśmy na statek okazało się, że większość Azjatów odpoczywała w środku i nigdzie nie byli. Po kajakach była przerwa na lunch. Napoje dodatkowo płatne.

When we returned to the ship, it turned out that most of the Asians were resting inside and were nowhere to be seen. After kayaking, there was a break for lunch. Drinks were extra.

Kolejnym punktem wycieczki było odwiedzenie wioski Viet Hai, do której dojazd był takim małym melexem. Ponoć dzieci codziennie muszą płynąć łódką do szkoły, bo na miejscu nie ma.
W wiosce były przygotowane też różne atrakcje.
Pojechaliśmy na krótką przejażdżkę rowerową.

The next stop on the trip was a visit to the Viet Hai village, which we reached by a small electric cart. Apparently, the children have to take a boat to school every day because there is no school in the village.
Various attractions were also prepared in the village.
We went for a short bike ride.

Następnie wróciliśmy na statek i popłynęliśmy na Wyspę Małp. Moim zdaniem była to najsłabsza "atrakcja". Żeby dostać się na wyspę trzeba było samemu tam popłynąć, większość ludzi była po całym dniu spędzonym w upale i pewnie po kilku drinkach/piwach. Po dotarciu na brzeg siedziało kilka małp wokół, których gromadzili się ludzie. Jedna dziewczyna usiadła i małpka wskoczyła jej na kolana. Fajnie było i zabawnie zrobić sobie z nią zdjęcie do momentu kiedy chciała już wstać a małpka nie bardzo. Więc siedziała i czekała aż małpka sama zejdzie, żeby uniknąć zadrapania czy pogryzienia. Ja stałam z boku i jakoś nie bardzo mi się to wszystko podobało, więc popłynęłam w stronę naszego statku. Niestety w tym momencie postanowił przypłynąć też inny jacht i zrobiła się taka mała fala, z którą musiałam trochę walczyć. Przyznaję, że było to już bardzo męczące i chyba w tym momencie dotarło do mnie, że to głupota tak pływać.

Then we returned to the ship and sailed to Monkey Island. In my opinion, it was the weakest ‘attraction’. To get to the island, you had to sail there yourself, and most people were exhausted after a whole day spent in the heat and probably after a few drinks/beers. When we reached the shore, there were a few monkeys sitting around, with people gathering around them. One girl sat down and a monkey jumped onto her lap. It was fun and amusing to take a photo with her until she wanted to get up and the monkey didn't really want to. So she sat and waited for the monkey to get off on its own to avoid being scratched or bitten. I stood to the side and didn't really like it, so I sailed towards our ship. Unfortunately, at that moment, another yacht decided to come by and there was a small wave that I had to fight a little. I admit that it was already very tiring and I think that at that moment it dawned on me that it was stupid to swim like that.

Po wycieczce zostaliśmy odwiezieni do hotelu.
Na początku byłam sceptyczna, bo zazwyczaj unikam miejsc jeśli wiem, że jest to bardzo popularna atrakcja turystyczna albo staram się odwiedzać te miejsca w czasie kiedy jest najmniej ludzi. Mimo wszystko nie było na wodzie tak tłoczno jak się obawiałam, a widoki naprawdę były niesamowite.
Jak potem jeszcze uzmysłowiłam sobie ile zapłaciliśmy za taką atrakcję, to naprawdę były to bardzo małe pieniądze.

After the trip, we were driven back to the hotel.
At first, I was sceptical because I usually avoid places if I know they are very popular tourist attractions, or I try to visit them when there are fewer people. However, it wasn't as crowded on the water as I had feared, and the views were truly amazing.
When I later realised how much we had paid for this attraction, it really was very little money.
