The majority of the population in Cyprus are Greeks. But there is also the Turkish minority, which lives closer to the North of the island. Despite the fact that Cyprus is divided into two territories, people get along here quite peacefully, everything goes without conflicts.


Due to the fact that the culture of Cyprus has long been influenced by Byzantium, there are many large and small Orthodox churches. They are here everywhere: in cities and small towns, away from roads and even on the beach. I have never seen churches near the coast, and here-this is the norm, even weddings and different holidays are held in these churches very often.


Local wedding always attracts the attention of tourists. It's so boring just to sit and sunbathe on the beach, and here is entertainment for the eyes!


I will tell you about the beaches another time, but I would like to note that they are beautiful. It is full of rocky places, but most of the beaches are sandy and very flat - a pleasure to swim in the clear, emerald water

Большинство населения на Кипре - это греки. Но есть и турецкое меньшинство, которе живёт ближе к северу острова. При том, что Кипр поделен на две территории, люди здесь уживаются достаточно мирно, всё обходится без конфликтов.
Благодяря тому, что культура Кипра долгое время была под влиянием Византии, здесь расположено много больших и маленьких православных церквей. Они тут везде: в городах и небольших посёлках, вдали от дорог и даже на берегу моря. Я ещё никогда не видел церквей у побережья, а здесь - это норма, даже венчания и разные праздники проходят в этих церквях очень часто.
Местная свадьба всегда привлекает внимание туристов. Ведь так скучно просто сидеть и загорать на пляже, а тут такое развлечение для глаз!
О пляжах я расскажу в другой раз, но хотелось бы отметить, что они прекрасны. Здесь полно каменистых мест, но большинство пляжей песчаные и очень пологие - одно удовольствие купаться в чистой, изумрудной воде.
