Surprises
Traveling through Thailand, a lot of people probably expect something weird/odd. Something they've never seen or tried. For me, not much, as I have been living in Thailand for my whole life but.. Believe it or not, small surprises happen every single day.
Do you eat pig intestines ?
The other night at Ratchada Rot Fai Night Market, I found grilled pig intestines (ไส้ย่าง).. I know the USA kinda throw those away or feed them to dogs. What about where you're from? Do you guys grill them or deep fry them like we do here in Thailand?
The intestines itself wouldn't 'hmm' me so much as we usually have that and they're sold in all the market / Isaan restaurant (North Eastern Thai style food). This is not one of those regular ones! It's grilled pig intestines stuffed with eggs! New to me!
L.A. Grilled intestines (ไส้ย่างแอลเอ)
The shop called 'L.A. Grilled intestines' and makes sense that the sign in front of their shop also claims that they are the first one in Thailand that does this! I really have never seen this elsewhere. They also say..
Not chewy, not bitter. The intestine fan must try!
As usual, the sauce we eat with the pig intestine is something called 'Nam Jim Jaew (น้ำจิ้มแจ่ว)' The nicely blended sauce with tamarind sauce, fish sauce, chilli powder, lime, cilantros.
10 THB ($0.3) per screwer.
I love the initiative, the love and passion they have for intestines. To be honest, I am one of the intestine fans. It' s yummy! Though, I would still prefer the regular ones without eggs stuffed as it gives more of the intestine flavours. My Korean friend who loves the intestines say the same thing.
I would still recommend you give it a go! Why not!? :)
