We decided to take a trip to Besedice Rocks. These are sandstone rocks in the Bohemian Paradise.
Besedice rocks are less visited than other rock towns in the Bohemian Paradise, so there are not so many tourists. Perfect for our dogs.
We parked the car in the parking lot in the village of Besedice. Parking fee for the whole day is 100 CZK.
Right next to the parking lot there is a refreshment place, but unfortunately it was closed.
From the car park we had to walk through the village of Besedice on an asphalt road past nice timbered cottages. After 300 m we enter the forest and follow the yellow hiking sign.
The path through the forest is shady and slightly uphill. After 850 m we reach the first larger rock formations and there the path becomes a little more difficult and steeper. We reach the highest point of the trip and from then on it is mostly downhill. (Which doesn't mean that the path is easier further up😀)
There are many rock overlooks along the trail, both on the surrounding rocks and for views into the distance.
Along the way we came across a beautiful rock maze with narrow alleys and passages.
The surrounding rocks and forest create a nice shade, which came in handy with the outside temperature over 30 ⁰C.
Still, we put a cooling vest on our senior dog, which was quite a relief from the high outdoor temperatures.
On the way back to the parking lot we also walked on the tops of the rocks 🙂
We have been to the Bohemian Paradise several times, but we have only now discovered the Besedice Rocks and we do not regret that we chose them over other and more famous rock towns for that one day.
