In June, I took a beautiful forest walk around the Ropotamo River along the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast.

The place is extremely rich in plant and animal species and it is not by chance that it has been declared a reserve.

First I will show you what is on the left side of the main road that leads to the town Primorsko.

After passing through abandoned buildings I entered the beautiful forest.

The forest was full of blossoming flowers, herbs and grasses.

I found St. John's wort - not only yellow St. John's wort, but also red St. John's wort.

Lychnis coronaria:

And more natural beauties:

They were so beautiful and stood out against the trees

It was full of the nine-spotted moth:

There were also mushrooms:

Tree moss:

On a tree I saw a moss so thick and shaped like a long snake that had firmly taken hold and wrapped itself around the tree:

On the other side of the road is the Ropotamo river and the forest there is quite dense.

It is reached by a long wooden platform.

Everywhere was full of thick green mosses, warmly hugging the trees.

The most amazing were the forest hollows in various shapes filled with forest water.

The river is so close:

If you continue straight from the wooden platform, you will reach a place where you can board a boat and follow the river to its mouth.

They say it's an exciting trip that I hope to do someday.
