We had a few nice days in Hesse. During the day it was a bit cooler than at home in the Rhine Valley. At night it also cooled down well, so we could sleep well. Yesterday we drove towards home and stopped in Rheinhessen in the town of Alzey. You could tell by the oppressive temperature that we were back in the Rhine Valley. During the night it was well over 25 degrees and only in the morning it cooled down a bit to about 20 degrees. Now I'm back home and watching a sparrow bathing in my freshly filled water trough.

Wir hatten ein paar schöne Tage in Hessen. Tagsüber war es ein bisschen kühler als zu Hause im Rheintal. Nachts kühlte es auch gut ab, so dass wir gut schlafen konnten. Gestern fuhren wir in Richtung Heimat und hielten in Rheinhessen in der Stadt Alzey. Man merkte an der drückenden Temperatur, dass wir wieder im Rheintal waren. In der Nacht waren es weit über 25 Grad und erst am Morgen kühlte es etwas ab auf etwa 20 Grad. Jetzt bin ich wieder zu Hause und beobachte einen Spatz, der in meinem frisch gefüllten Wassertrog badet.

It was too hot at home. I looked to see where it was coolest in Germany without having to drive far. That's how we ended up in Wetzlar. A nice little town, and the climate is very pleasant.

Bei uns zu Hause war es zu heiß. Ich habe geschaut, wo es in Deutschland am kühlsten ist, ohne dass man weit fahren muss. So sind wir in Wetzlar gelandet. Eine nette kleine Stadt, und das Klima ist sehr angenehm.

Our next destination is the university town of Marburg. Also a beautiful little town.

Unser nächstes Ziel ist die Universitätsstadt Marburg. Auch eine schöne kleine Stadt.

Now we are on our way back and make a stop in Idstein in the Taunus.

Nun sind wir auf dem Rückweg und machen einen Zwischenstopp in Idstein im Taunus.

Alzey castle / Alzeyer Schloß

We were today in Eltville, a small town near Wiesbaden. The RV park has not pleased us and have continued to Alzey. Now we are on the road in the city..

Wir waren heute in Eltville, einer kleinen Stadt in der Nähe von Wiesbaden. Der Wohnmobilstellplatz hat uns nicht gefallen und wir sind weiter nach Alzey gefahren. Jetzt sind wir in der Stadt unterwegs.
