It's planting season in Indiana but we see the corn already grow on our way from southern Michigan down to Indianapolis.

We stopped in South Bend.

We visited university of Notre Dame, which was founded by a french priest. It originally was a catholic school for boys. During the world wars the school faced financial distress and decided to use its campus for military training. Still today, large numbers of Notre Dome students serve in the military. We visited the golden dome, basilica of the sacred heart and walked around campus where some people just happened to celebrate their graduation.

Abi and Edel welcomed us warmly into their home. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with their friends. They live on a turkey farm and we made a nice and cozy bonfire at night. The kids love their dogs who are very friendly.

On Sunday we enjoyed the ride into Indionapolis. Our first stop was the museum of art, where there was a great variety of differenty areas and geographic origination (even same Hopper Paintings and a lot of very old chinese pottery). We even enjoyed a live performance of african dance.

We then continued our trip via the nice northern neighourhood called Meridian Kessler for a pork tenderloin, which is a speciality dish in Indiana.

We are lucky to explore downtown Indianapolis in a very relaxed atmosphere. Next week this place will be packed with people during the happening of the Indi - 500, which is a famous annual car race. There are buildings and even restaurants or bars dating back to 1850 while a lot of the city is just being re-built and very modern. There is a lot of green space even downtown.
