Hello Steemitverse and Travelers around the world!
Today I will be sharing a decent budget friendly accommodation in the heart of Manila, Philippines.
But first I’ll show you my favorite Apps that is very useful to me when traveling for discounted tickets, food promos, cheap flights, hotel accommodation, etc.
It’s combined in one folder in my phone
for easy access. Perhaps I will discuss each of them in a separate blog but for now let us focus on Traveloka, the one that I used for booking this accommodation.
I always made my hotel reservations ahead of time like two weeks or at least 3 days before my planned travel date to get more options, price comparisons, discounts and to avoid inconvenience.
To have the full access of Traveloka App, you need to register/create an account (for free). It will ask you for some data such as email add, name, address, contact number and payment method. Be sure to put the correct and real ones if you don’t want to encounter troubles in booking or anything related to false identity. Haha!
Like any other Apps, it is user friendly with steps by steps instructions to click depending on your preference. It’s like all-in-one App for booking flights, hotels, experience, etc... like this: 👇🏼
So with this reservation, I chose “Go Hotels”(.ph) - Ermita, Manila for 2 days/1 night stay.
Check-in at 2:00 PM and Check-out on the next day at 12:00 in the afternoon.
In my experience, booking online is better than walk-in because it has a huge price difference. Online price is cheaper plus additional discount on promos.
Above was the details of my reservation, I blocked my name for privacy purposes 😉. The online regular price was 1,638.12 Php but I got it with 10% discount from the App’s promo (special hotel gift). Total payment of 1,474.31 Php / more or less 30 Usd. If go walk-in it will cost you 2,000.00 Php or 40.00 Usd. I paid it with Mastercard, but it also accepts different payment methods as you prefer like over-the-counter, bank transfer and other gateway.
So, let’s take a look on the accommodation.
It’s not luxurious but decent enough for short stay and considering the price, it’s a gem for me. The place is simply neat and clean, with their yellow, green and white theme pleasing to the eyes will feel you at home the moment you get in.
It has a small reception area, a counter to entertain the guest and seating place for everyone.
On the other side, you will find the cafe that serves as the dining area in the morning for buffet breakfast which you can avail separately.
The hall way on the 7th floor for our room assignment.
It has the standard keycard and also serves at the general switch for the electricity inside the room. As well as your pass to get into the elevator and activate the button for your desired floor.
The bed and overall design of the room was beyond my expectation. The twin single bed is very comfy not a kind of 5 star hotel bed but quite similar on that. The comforter and pillows are soft, cleaning and smells really good.
A side table in between the beds, telephone, bible, complementary water and small volt.
Has a small closet and pull out working table under where I put my bag. Another thing I like about this room was the separate shower and toilet. Behind the closet is the shower room, on the other side is the toilet. Very useful when you’re in a hurry, two people can do their thing without waiting for the other one inside the comfort room. 😉
And a flat screen with cable channels, as well as free wifi access.
For the breakfast, on the buffet table - fried rice, pansit, sliced bread, pandesal, hotdog, tocino, ham and dried fish. They also have soup and boiled eggs, fruits (watermelon, pineapple & banana), orange juice, coffee and milk. As well as some spread for the bread like, butter and strawberry jam. Unlimited for 299.00 Php ( 6.00 Usd) per person.
We opt to stay in this hotel because we are moving from one place to other, it is really good for short stay. The next day we transferred into different accommodation for longer days, a bit bigger with small bedroom, living area and kitchen. I opt this kind of accommodation for few days because I love cooking in the morning and have a cup of hot coffee any time of the day. It is also cheaper than eating outside and deliveries.
I hope you find it helpful and see you again in my next review.
Thank you and happy weekend.
xoxo,
