Traveling the World #144 - Bojnice Castle @ Bojnice, Slovakia

Hi Everyone,

Our next destination was Bojnice Castle. It was a bit of a drive from our accommodation but it was worth it. We parked at the local hotel across the road from the castle and paid for it as it was close. The town of the castle was not very big so we can see it right in front of us.

When you visit, make sure you find a time for a tour as you can only visit the castle on a tour. The ticket price includes that. Also depending the season you go in, the opening times may differ so do check these things before you arrive.

As we were there during halloween, they had a cute pumpkin display just at the entrance of the castle. Also a thing to note is to go to the bathroom before you go in as there aren’t any time and place for you to do so inside the castle.

Once we go in, we were lead to a really dark tunnel/cave area which is pretty low from ground level. It was an interesting area as it was super cold down and pretty dark. They had lots of lights installed but it seemed a bit scary. The floor was a bit wet when we visited. Be sure to wear some comfy shoes when you visit the castle as there are many areas to all around and up and down the stairs. You will need to cross this cave before going inside the castle.
