Sadly, the temples suffered at the hands of looters over the years. They severely damaged the ‘Sun’ temple in particular, which contained burials and gold artefacts, when they rerouted the river Moche to undermine the building and destroy about two-thirds of it in the 17th century.
Trust the strangers. The local people are very kind and honest. They are genuinely interested in your travel and rarely want to scam you.
Survival: Moss for open wound

I grab a handful moss and chew it carefully and the other hand press on the wound at my left ring finger. I take the chewed moss and put on the open wound to stop bleeding.
