Welcome to today's weekly Travelfeed Asia roundup brought to you by @guchtere and @for91days.
The holiday season is the perfect time to take a look back, and think about all the things for which you're grateful. That's exactly what today's first article does, with a look back at a wonderful trip to Papua New Guinea. the second feature takes us on a boat trip to Gilis Island. And for a stark contrast, the final article in this week's round-up of posts from Asia, is about a visit to Mt. Everest.

A Christmas story: Taking, and giving to my dad and others...
written by @galenkp
So giving for me at this time of year means a completely different thing than most. I give back to my dad, as I do all year I guess and I give back to the small community of Kokoda in Papua New Guinea who gave me so much in November 2007.
After arriving with the taxi in Padangbai we've been approached by a lot of street sellers to buy a Gili boat ticket. We've already purchased one online with a dubious boat company which i'm not gonna mention here because we were not happy with the service. there was no pickup point described nor a proper pick up time or meeting point.
Mt. Everest Base Camp trek - walk among some of the highest mountains in the world
written by @digi-me
If there is one mountain that has captivated people it must be Mt. Everest (8.848m) the highest mountain in the world. Legends as George Mallory, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay inspired many mountaineers. To reach the top of Everest became a dream to many.
