Welcome to today's weekly Travelfeed Africa roundup brought to you by @rimicane, @for91days and @wanderlass.

Let's explore Africa's ancient cities starting at the Roman Ruins of Volubilis in Morocco. @coldsteem takes us through historical exhibits and a peek at centuries-old mosaics that remain intact to this day.

Up next, let's explore Egypt in two different time periods. @barge posts his travel diary and takes us back to the Nile in 1996. Before there was tourism and during a time when foreign tourist safety was a big concern, he climbed pyramids and moved around with an armed escort.

Moving on to the present time, tourism has grown in Egypt but at the same time some treasures are now more exclusive. @vcclothing gives us rare photos of the Tutankhamun at the Egyptian museum with his hidden camera! What you are about to see are not replicas, but the real artifacts and sarcophagus.

Roman Ruins - Volubilis, Morocco
written by @coldsteem

Volubilis was abandoned by the eleventh century, but remained largely intact. An earthquake in the eighteenth century destroyed much of the city, leaving the rubble to be scavenged to build the nearby city of Meknes. The massive area has only been partially excavated for visitors. Portions of the ruins have been reconstructed to provide visitors with a reference regarding the original look of the ruins.

Diary Travelogues - Egypt - The Nile & Pharaohs - 1996 - April 08 to 27 - Part 1
written by @barge

The police had obviously been forewarned of the foreigner's arrival in their terrorist-ridden city, for I hadn't walked 15 meters from the station when an armed guard came running up to me urging me towards a young man with a walkie-talkie. He kept saying that there was no danger whatsoever, but nonetheless I had to be accompanied to the hotel, for which purpose a minibus was being sent.

EXCLUSIVE - TUTANKHAMUN - Hidden camera
written by @vcclothing

We finally found the TUTANKHAMUN exhibit and there was a big sign saying NO CAMERAS ALLOWED. I had my camera around my neck
