Wat Phan Tao Temple located in the middle of Chiang Mai Town. If you are in town it would be easy to come to the temple by walking. You might consider using tuktuk if you first time in town to enjoy the way of transporting in Thailand. But i always prefer walking if the location is still in range of walking.
Everyday in early in the morning , the monk will go around the town to get food or offering by people and give them blessing. But , today it was a special day where we plan to come and directly give the monk food so they dont need to go out to get food from public.
There was a few temple nearby this temple and much more bigger and popular. But what make Wat Phan Tao special is it was made by wood with bamboo and garden around it places.
We come to the temple early in the morning with my fellow friend. We have prepare the food as early as 3 o'clock in the morning. We have inform the monk head , so they ll not go out to get food from people today.
My Thai friend will give the food to the little monk and get their blessing. I also has give some money to my friend to give for the each monk , so they can use it to buy some stuff.
After giving the food , they usually do the core routine before eating together. Their daily routine is clean the temple , praying , and class . The food they collect will just enough a day , then they ll repeat the process again tomorrow.
In certain place , i heard they ll be given a day off so they can go out and meet their family or outing with their friend . I've meet some young monk and explore a cave with them because it was their off day. Some place might not have the day off and it was different from one place to other place.
