Sitio Makawa Manggo Farm's Location:
Sitio Makawa is located in the mountainous part of Naawan, Misamis Oriental, it is quite far from the National road and it is necessary to walk a few Kilometers before reaching the place. From the National road, it will take a few hours of walking to reach this place. Even though the area is a little far away, the places that can be passed here have beautiful views. The road is not paved and contains many small stones. The road to the Sitio is near the river, there are various types of large and tall trees that can be seen on the side of the road, including animals such as birds and wild flowers and plants.
Before we get to Makawa Mango Farm, we will first pass this beautiful steel bridge. This bridge serves as a crossing for residents especially when there is a big flood. This helps to still cross and cross the Products to be sold in the Market. It is made of strong metal and cables so that the people who pass through it are safe. On each side of it, there are flat bars placed so that people who pass by it do not fall and have something to hold on to when crossing the Bridge. This is the only unique bridge that can be seen here and is really helpful especially to the residents who live here in Sitio.
From the top of the bridge you can see this River that connects Manticao and Naawan. Due to the hot weather experienced here, the water gradually recedes. There are different types of wild plants that can be seen on the river side. You can also see the path of carts made of wood where the products are placed that will be crossed to the other side of the area. When there is a flood they manually haul the products to the other place. Large vehicles such as trucks also pass through here and the only vehicles can pass on such a bridge are motorcycles and bicycles.
For those who want to paddle here in the River, it is very perfect to paddle here because of the beauty and cleanliness of the place. Colorful crystal water in the river and in fact many people come here to bathe or do laundry. Because of the crystal clear water, you can see the rocks on the bottom as well as fish, crabs and shrimps swimming.
Near Mango Farm, you can also see this bridge made of glued bamboos. This is a simple bridge but it is very important for the residents especially when the stream floods. This stream is connected to the river passing through to this place. I tried to cross the bridge made of bamboo, and it is also very sturdy so that the people who pass by it are safe. The stream is dry due to the continuous hot weather but its beauty is preserved due to the huge and towering trees that can be seen here.
Here in the area you can also see this big and old mango tree. Due to its age, the branches are gradually falling off making it very dangerous to walk through it. Even though this tree is old, it still produces many mangoes.
My place where there are many mango trees has beautiful views especially the big trees. Some of them bear many fruits and are ready to harvest. These trees are sometimes sprayed to produce fruit and the fruits that can be obtained from it are sold in the public area.
