We had visited the SOU last year and targeted on the SOE this year. Yes, it is the Statue of Equality – the 216 feet Statue of the profound Saint – Sree Ramanuja
He was the first saint to call all human beings as his counterparts. He stands unequivocally the greatest of all times for this act of his which was considered not so holy during his time. But he made it explicit to all who challenged him, saying that all human beings deserve the same respect. He made sure that all human beings could enter the temples and worship the diety without any discrimination. Today his Statue is rightly named as the Statue of Equality. This is in Muchintal, Hyderabad in the midst of the city.
The entry ticket is charged at 350 per head. There is a water show at 5.30. in the evening. Hence entry around 4.30 is highly recommended since the evening sun would be kind. The huge golden colored statue would welcome you from a distance. After the water show, one can initially have Darshan of the golden statue (original in the metal Gold) of the Great Saint which is kept inside the temple. There is an elevator facility to reach to the SOE from this temple and we made use of the same. After a picturesque view of the Statue and of the landscape around, we can have Darshans of the replica of the 108 divya deshams which has been constructed here.
Visiting the 108 divyadeshams during our life time is a difficult task and so we were extremely elated to see a replica of all the Gods and Goddesses here. We kept counting as to how many of them we have already visited and how many more to go now.
There are prasadams served in every corner (meagrely charged) The chaas and rosemilk tasted better than ever. There is also a canteen in the campus which has chaat items Podi dosai and lassi. After our dinner we were able to view the laser show (sitting in the garden) which spoke of the life of the Saint in volumes.
We moved away from the place before the laser show ended knowing fully well that the place would be swarming once the laser show ends.
Before leaving the SOE we once again saw the Saint Ramanuja who now glowed in the laser lights captivating one and all
