The port is located at the end of the park, right behind the beautiful and huge Grand Hotel Primorets.
The seaport of Bourgas is one of the largest cargo ports in Bulgaria. Just over ten years ago, the port was an abandoned industrial area. The city authorities decided to make this area interesting for tourists and turn the port into a shopping and entertainment center and a public recreation area.
Thanks to foreign investment, after Bulgaria joined the European Union, a modern passenger terminal appeared in the port of Burgas, which can accept not only passenger ferries, but also cruise liners, as well as a recreation area with a playground and the Magaziya 1 complex, which has a Dalian fish restaurant .
Dalian’s restaurant is huge, with access to the terrace, which offers a beautiful view of the sea and the ships in the port. Directly opposite the parking of a small cruise boat "Anastasia", where you can take a boat trip to the island of Saint Anastasia and back in 3 hours, while having time to walk around the island. I have not had time to go there.
There are always a lot of people here, Bulgarians go here to rest and eat. Fish dishes are very tasty and fresh, checked by me. Here you can try both the Black Sea fish and imported, ocean. Prices do not scare, about 2-6 euros per serving of fish is quite inexpensive.
In the port of Burgas there are tugs, fishing ships, dry cargo ships, giant yellow cranes. In the tourist season cruise liners appear, but rarely, judging by the schedule in the port. True, I never managed to see any of the cruise liners, but then in the Bulgarian media I found some impressive shots. Look at what a huge airliner compared to the building of the marine station
In front of the shopping center there is a marine playground with a special rubberized coating. And next you can jump on a small trampoline, arranged directly in the coating. The maximum permissible weight is 100 kg, so adults can jump on them as well.
Interestingly, you can rent a bike to ride through the Primorsky Park of Burgas, which stretches for seven kilometers from the port itself along the coast. And when he returned, sit on the terrace of the restaurant and eat delicious fish, glancing at the sea.
The territory near the seaport building is beautifully and rationally arranged. Here are old boats, as decoration gozons, benches with supports in the form of anchors and dolphins. Opposite the original building of the Reston "Jolly Roger" with a roof, as if flying on sails. And then closed territory and lighthouse.
A bit of history read on the port website
The port of Burgas was founded by decree of Prince Ferdinand I in 1894 and solemnly, in his presence, opened to merchant shipping in 1903. A little earlier, in 1899, the first Bulgarian port lighthouse was built.
The port has a pool of 60 hectares, the total front of the walls is 590 meters, the depth of the water area is 24 feet. In 1941, the first two three-ton electric cranes of the Škoda company were delivered. Until then, all the work was manual, the load was carried on the back, carts and stretchers. In 1963, a terminal for the transportation of petroleum and petroleum products began operating near the main port. In 1974, the official opening of the port for the transport of bulk cargo, and then ferrous metals.
It turns out that the port of Burgas has more than a century of history. It is actually rebuilt, therefore it looks and is a modern port.
Thanks to everyone who walked with me in the seaport of the Bulgarian city of Burgas.
