Straying Into a Wild Date Palm Field in an Indian Village

Remote India is mostly considered as farming areas and jungle. I too live in a place where, most of the land is used for farming and major part is covered with jungle. However, recently I visited another village to attend a wedding of a relative to find the major portion is covered with Palm Trees. And most of the trees are full of Date Palm.

It has a scenic beauty spreading till long distance making a good place for morning walk. As soon as I came out of the wedding place , I was greeted with this vast pond. A reseviour for the village and saw many kids taking a dive into its water. I always fascinated with this village set up and I believe every village in India have one of a kind water pond in their area. Me too have one. But this one is quite a biggy.

Moving ahead, I saw a big field after the water reservoir and have plenty of palm tree. The place is quite photogenic as I always love to spend lot of time around nature. The field has many big and small palm tree. I was getting a sense of peace and experiencing a new kind of freshness.

Indian palm trees are not much taller in size and usually grows around 25-30 Meter. The green leaves on top and spikes at bottom makes these trees a risky place. But the Green Leafes all around these small trees makes it quite attractive.

I never saw so many of palm trees before. I remember the local people making a kind of alchohal from these palm trees and call them "Taadi" A white beverages made out of the trees. The method is also unique as they ties a pot in the tree collect the dropping juices from the trees and drink them after keeping it a day.

The date palm have many advantages and is considered good for health.

It is a great source of energy booster.
It helps in keeping good digestive system.
It helps in improving eye sight during night blindness.
It also helps in weight management.

I experienced a fresh up morning among all those date palm tree. A new look of a new remote India as people of that village usually involve in Date Palm Farming. And these trees were part of it. I was not aware of it, as mostly in our areas growing staple crops are the main source of farming.
