Sâo Paulo, just one day - Brazil Series #19 and last [ENG-ESP]

I left Paraty almost at noon, I would have liked to leave earlier, but that was the departure time of the bus to the last place I visited in Brazil: Sao Paulo. After almost seven hours on the road, I arrived at about 7:00 at night at the terminal of this huge city, I connected with the subway and went to Praça da República, where I stayed the last two nights I spent in the country. I was going to have only one day to walk around this great metropolis so I had dinner and went to rest to get up early the next day and walk all day hahaha.

Dejé Paraty casi al mediodía, hubiese querido irme más temprano, pero ese era el horario de salida del autobús con destino al último lugar que visité en Brasil: Sâo Paulo. Después de casi siete horas de carretera, llegué como a las 7:00 de la noche al terminal de esta enorme ciudad, hice conexión con el metro y me dirigí a Praça da República, allí cerca quedaba el hostal donde me alojé las dos últimas noches que pasé en el país. Iba a tener solamente un día para pasear por esta gran metrópolis así que cené y fui a descansar para levantarme temprano al día siguiente y caminar todo el día jajaja.

I had the map of Sâo Paulo and the subway map and so I knew how to get to one of the places I wanted to visit: Ibirapuera Park, because although I was in the city, I wanted to continue seeing nature. The nearest subway station to this park was quite far away but as I like walking, I really enjoyed the tour passing by a big avenue, I think that walking is the best way to know any place.

Tenía el mapa de Sâo Paulo y el del metro y así supe cómo llegar hasta uno de los lugares que quería conocer: el Parque Ibirapuera, porque aunque estaba en la ciudad, quería seguir viendo naturaleza. La estación de metro más cercana a este parque quedaba bastante lejos pero como me gusta caminar, disfruté mucho el recorrido pasando por una gran avenida, pienso que a pie es la mejor manera de conocer cualquier lugar.

Ibirapuera Park is the lung of the city, it has an extension of approximately 2 square kilometers and apart from the green areas there you can visit several museums, the auditorium, art halls, and more. The place is beautiful, but I didn’t take many pictures here, I concentrated more on looking, this happened to me in general with the city, I captured few images, maybe the inspiration ran out...

El Parque Ibirapuera es el pulmón de la ciudad, tiene una extensión de aproximadamente 2 Km cuadrados y aparte de las áreas verdes allí puedes visitar varios museos, el auditorio, salones de arte, y más. El lugar es hermoso, pero no hice muchas fotos aquí, me concentré más en mirar, esto me pasó en general con la ciudad, capturé pocas imágenes, será que la inspiración se me acabó…

I stayed a couple of hours in the park and when I left I went for a walk along the famous Paulista Avenue, the main avenue of Sao Paulo, there I was entertained by the stores and anything curious I saw, it is a very active area, there is everything. In this city live more than 12 million people and is the main industrial engine of Brazil, it is also financially one of the most important places in Latin America.

Me quedé un par de horas en el parque y al salir me fui a caminar por la famosa Av. Paulista, la principal de Sâo Paulo, allí me entretuve con los comercios y cualquier cosa curiosa que veía, es una zona demasiado activa, hay de todo. En esta ciudad viven más de 12 millones de personas y es el principal motor industrial de Brasil, además financieramente es uno de los lugares más importantes de América Latina.

At the end of the afternoon I took the subway again and returned to the hostel, I had to pack my backpack for my return trip to Venezuela early the next morning. Sâo Paulo didn’t captivate me, it’s true, but I only knew it for one day, maybe it deserves another opportunity.

Al final de la tarde tomé el metro nuevamente y volví al hostal, tenía que alistar mi mochila para mi viaje de regreso a Venezuela a la mañana siguiente bien temprano. Sâo Paulo no me cautivó, es verdad, pero apenas la conocí por un día, quizás merezca otra oportunidad.
