Hello, travelers in the world!
I live in Seoul, South Korea and I'd like to introduce some of nice places here in Korea to the world.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to practice my English writing.
So win win for everybody!? Maybe? :)
Today I am going to share with you some photos of Changdeokgung palace. (little difficult to pronounce? try to tackle each syllable at a time --- Chang-Deok-Gung :) )
To me it looked interesting composition that there's a square shaped window inside the round shaped window and beyond that there's roof of another building.
Oh, maybe it's interesting to you that we used to have paper windows and doors instead of glass ones in the old days. It's not just any kind of paper, it's special kind of paper and it blocked the wind quite well, considering.
Above photo was taken in another palace in Seoul at night, obviously, I'd like to share it with you because the paper doors looked so beautiful to me with the light inside.
Now back to Changdeokgung palace :)
You can rent to wear Hanbock, which is traditional Korean outfit and maybe you could double the fun during the visit.
And I am sure you are going to look great in photos.
I am afraid I didn't take many architecture photos because the actual reason I went there was to appreciate the autumn foliage in the back garden of the palace called Huwon, which means literally the garden at the rear of the building.
I am going to share more photos of Huwon on the upcoming article.
You can find more information about the palace on the official website.
It has English version.
The main photo at the top of this article is actually the main gate of the palace. When I finished the tour of some areas of the palace and the Huwon, it was past 5PM. And the main gate was closed because the last entry time is 4:30 during the winter.
So I was informed to another way out that lead me to a cozy little road called Chang deok gung - gil along the palace wall, which I never visited before.
I found the road was very pleasant to walk if you still had a little energy left after the palace tour ;)
If you are looking for places for dinner, light snack or a cuppa, there are so many cute stores along the road.
@akomoajong kindly left a comment, thanks again, that my photos might not show the scale of the palace properly. :)
So I'd like to share my answer to him with you as well for those who have the same question.
Thank you so much for the complement. That means a lot to me because I am self-learning photography.
I 'd like to practice whenever I have chances.
Now about your question :)
I understand my photos doesn't show the scale of the palace properly.
As I mentioned on the updated article, I didn't really take many photos of the architecture itself
I focused more on the interesting shapes and compositions of the building or the harmony with the foliage..etc. Maybe I can say that I am experimenting and trying to get interesting photos, I think.
Thanks again for visiting and the comment. :)
