Hello friends, I haven't had much time to write here these days because I have been quite busy with work but I have collected a lot of material and will definitely be doing some articles in the near future and bringing photos here.
This weekend I had two days off from work so I took the opportunity to be with my family and visit my grandparents who live in Mantua in Lombardy.
Unfortunately, it has also been bad weather these days and the temperatures have dropped significantly, so I had to take out the coat I had already washed and put away.
I think almost all of you know Mantua because I know that it is quite famous all over the world, but many do not know that Mantua was founded by a witch like Camelot, in fact Dante tells it by the mouth of Virgil in his Divine Comedy and according to him it was founded by the soothsayer 'Manto', that's where its name comes from, and to tell the truth I have never understood if this story is simply a legend.
The next time I visit my grandparents I want to take the boat and make the tour of the two lakes that embrace the city of Mantua must be a wonderful experience.
Incidentally, I was lucky enough to happen upon the opening day of 40 gardens all over Italy, gardens that are not usually open to the public, of large residences and private villas, but during this day they are opened with guided tours and I knew a guide here in Mantua and had the opportunity to visit that of palazzo Arco, a historic palace of the Gonzaga lords of Mantua.
Just think that this garden is over 3,000 square metres in size and is really made up of paths, divided into three zones, the central one, which would be the gentlemen's resting area, then there is also an area where there is a lemon grove, and one part is where the medicinal and aromatic plants that were used in the villa's kitchen are dedicated.
A really interesting visit I always like to discover new corners of Mantua and I must say that there is a lot of material here.
This visit too has unfortunately come to an end I hope I enjoyed the photos and that my story did not bore you until next time.
