In my visit that I had made a couple of weeks ago in Sicily, I occasionally come across photos that I had forgotten to share with you, as in the case of the visit to the Ventimiglia Castle in Castelbuono in the province of Palermo.
It is almost superfluous to comment on the beauty of this castle, because it is a precious architectural asset, but the thing I liked most is the entry price which is really low. In fact we are talking about 5 Euros.
It is located right at the top of the village and is well maintained and has been restored over time then I will show you in the next photos the baroque chapel that is inside it which is really beautiful.
Surely the most important and most beautiful part of the Castle and honestly I have not seen similar around.
Sometimes the guide inside the castle explained to me. Contemporary art exhibitions are organized but also exhibition routes. I was unlucky because when I visited it there was none of this.
In the castle are kept sacred books and vestments that were used by the priests who frequented the chapel.
Now I'll tell you a bit of the history of the castle, in fact it was wanted by the Ventimiglia family, one of the richest and most noble families who were in Sicily at the time and who had settled in these parts, and thanks to this construction of the castle was also born the town of Castelbuono which has practically come up to the present day, as we find it now.
It is estimated that the construction of the castle began in 1316 and the last changes were made in 1863, as you have been able to see inside the Baroque art is the protagonist, as in all of Sicily.
I hope you liked this story of mine from this somewhat unknown part of Sicily and also the photos or we were to your liking most likely in the near future.
If I find more material I will certainly post it here
