Naples is certainly one of those cities that remain in the heart of Italy but for someone like me who is always hungry it is the truly ideal city but above all the pignasecca market, a local market located right in the center of the city is frequented every day by thousands of people.
the Pignasecca market is practically located within the area of the Spanish districts of Naples, very close to the super busy via Toledo.
It is not known exactly if it has the oldest market in Naples but when I was there and I spoke to some of the inhabitants who are nearby, however, it confirmed that it is one of the oldest and allows the visitor from my point of view to see in folkloristic way what the city of Naples can offer from the point of view of raw materials but also from food to be consumed right on the street.
Because it is true that you can find fresh fish there that you can cook at home but you can also find a very good fry to be consumed along the road while walking.
In addition to the traditional stalls where fish, fruit and vegetables are sold, clothing and all kinds of clothing are also sold, there is even a risk of finding music CDs.
But do you know why this typical market is so called?
Most likely the name is given by the fact that in the area before it was leveled to build Via Toledo there were several Pines and somehow they were annoyed by the inhabitants of the area because the magpies nidified them and hid the objects that could therefore, the name of the area was born from this story.
So if you have the opportunity to come on holiday to Naples, drop by because you will surely eat lots of good things.
