Every now and then I come across some photos that I may have taken several months ago somewhere I've been. In fact, just yesterday I found some photos that I took in Soriano nel Cimino, a town that I'm sure many of you don't know, located in the province of Viterbo in the Lazio region.
I must say that I like to introduce you to these villages in Italy because this municipality has not even 8000 inhabitants and is located more or less 500 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Cimino.
To tell you the truth, I'm not very good at telling the history of countries, I like more than anything else to remember the feelings that this country has left me, which is rich in history, however, thanks to the fact that it was a possession of the Orsini family, a family of popes, and then the country was influenced by this thing that dominates above the country is its beautiful castle.
It is quite an effort and a challenging walk to get up to the castle, but from here there is a beautiful view not only of the village but also of the entire valley.
The town's coat of arms still bears the papal symbol because until the unification of Italy these lands were under the direct control of the Holy See.
I remember that it is quite close to Viterbo, I think it is only 20 km away, and in any case in every corner of this town you can breathe a little bit of the history of the past.
Inside the village church, I found an altar with a Madonna with jukeboxes placed in front of it, and I honestly didn't understand why, but I will certainly look into it.
So, in the end, I can only tell you that this town is worth visiting if you happen to be near Lake Bolsena or Viterbo, because it is rich in history, even though I have noticed that the monuments are unfortunately in poor condition.
