A few weeks ago I started a new job as a tour guide, the job was offered to me by a cousin of mine who practically has a bus company and organises these trips around Italy, so most likely in the next few days I will bring a lot of material here to share with you.

It is true that in my life, however, I have not studied tourism but I have studied art history, however, I think I can get by in my new job.

The first trip I took I accompanied a group of elderly people to Sorrento, a beautiful coastal town on the Sorrento peninsula which is practically in front of the Bay of Naples.

I had already been to Sorrento when I was a child but I no longer remembered it as a city and I must say that it is well kept especially the central square and the Corso Italia where there are numerous ice-cream parlours and where we could not resist the desire to taste a good ice-cream.

Naturally we have made a beautiful walk of about 2 hours inside the city among the alleys and among the numerous shops of souvenir that sell a lot of things naturally tied up to the lemon to go then to the search of a pizzeria because we wanted to eat a characteristic pizza of these zones.

But for the pizza we had to wait for the evening, because first we had to go to another place.

I actually had a very good granita, which they make well here, and then we continued to visit these impressive 19th-century buildings with many references to Baroque art.

Then, as lunchtime was approaching, we headed to a famous lemon grove because we had booked a tour to see how the world's most famous lemon is grown and produced.

It was a very interesting tour because I had never seen these explanations and also because the lemon of Sorrento is very characteristic for the fact of its thick peel rich in essential oils in fact it is also used in perfumes but above all I liked the tasting of limoncello but also of the tasty jams that are prepared with lemons.

At the end we had lunch under a beautiful pergola from where you could admire a beautiful view and also I was able for the first time in my life to taste the lemon flavoured extra virgin olive oil. In fact I was so impressed by this oil that I bought two bottles to take home.

Then in the evening we went to eat at the pizzeria we had found but I forgot to take pictures because I was too busy with the food, but I thank you for reading this post up to here and probably tomorrow I will publish the second day of my adventure in Campania.
