Its another fabulous friday again and i am glad to participate at #marketfriday by @dswigle. Friday is the start of the weekend in the middle east (weekdays start thru Sunday-Thursday).

Here is a typical market in a shopping mall in UAE (United Arab Emirates). Shopping malls are usually pack up during weekend.

This are tropical vegetables imported from neighboring countries such as India, Bangladesh, oman etc.

How many of you knows red bananas? I know there are lots of varieties of banana but i have never known a red banana until recently. I think this type of banana is from india, but i am not sure if it's only used for cooking.

And an aisle's of fruits...

Just before the counter, there is a designated area for tiny plants and bouquet of flowers. They are a bit pricey so it is best to buy it in the local nursery.

UAE has a wide access of fruits and mostly all sorts of vegetables. Though this is not a traditional souq (market), its still the best to shop here as this is close to our house and is probably the same price in a traditional market. Saves us from gasoline :)

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Have you tried a red banana, if so, does it use for cooking or you can you eat it is?

Thank you.
