During our recent road trip to Southern Sweden, when we arrived in Jönköping We spotted Daloona restaurant located by the corner of a picturesque lake.
Its logo caught my attention immediately - two OO's resembling eyes with a Turkish cap above and mustache below them. Therefore, it is easy to discern that it is a Turkish restaurant. I made the decision that we would eat dinner here.
After checking into the Scandic hotel, I called the restaurant to confirm their opening hours and whether they served Halal food. The person on the phone confirmed that they were open till 2 am and served Halal food. The distance from the hotel to the restaurant was a 20 minute walk, but we decided to walk to our car which was parked a little further away, and then drive to the restaurant.
As we arrived at Daloona, we were pleased with its location by the lake and the lovely outdoor seating area. However, we were disappointed to learn that they had run out of food due to unexpected demand caused by the beautiful weather.
We were starving and didn't want to go elsewhere, so we decided to ask if they could prepare something for us. The staff was very accommodating and offered to make us Turkish shawarma and fried chicken. We eagerly accepted.
Despite the limited options, the food was surprisingly delicious. The shawarma was juicy and flavorful, while the fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The portion sizes were generous and we were satisfied with our meal.
Throughout our meal, the staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and valued as customers. We appreciated their efforts to accommodate us despite the unexpected surge in demand.
As we finished our meal, we were a bit disappointed that we didn't get to try their full menu. However, we were grateful for the hospitality and the quality of food we received.
