Starting the day with a good coffee
At this point I was awake for 24 hours, still feeling very awake but in need of a coffee break to get that extra energy and keep going with the day.
I was just looking around for a nice and quiet place to do it. To enjoy my first coffee in Malta and when I saw Raffael it seemed the right choice.
Also, I needed a place with Wifi, I have done all I needed for my roaming to be working and for a couple of hours everything was fine. But for no reason, it just stopped working.
I don't know how usual is for places to offer Wifi in Malta, so I was a little bit scared of asking, but luckily they had wifi and I was able to solve my problem and get my roaming working again, to have access to all the access I have here in the UK.
Inside Raffael and the choices
Just needed a nice coffee to get that extra energy but decided to check the food menu, just in case there was something that caught my eye. Was not the case.
Don't get me wrong, everything sounded great but it is a very touristic area, so obviously they were overcharging those Summer prices for the tourists. Because I was not that hungry I have decided to go only with the coffee.
Was the best coffee in the World? No. But also, not the worst, usually Lavazza coffee is nice enough. So I was happy at this point.
The place inside was very nice, the staff very friendly but it was empty, there was a reason for that. And you will understand.
But in the meanwhile since I wanted to solve my Roaming problem, that was ideal.
The reason Raffael was empty inside
True that I wanted to get my Roaming problem solved, true that I wanted to grab a coffee.
But more important and since I was in Malta, exploring it. I wanted to do all of that with a beautiful view if possible.
And of course that was possible and Raffael had an amazing view to offer.
January and the day was looking this beautiful. Yes, there were some clouds and on this day, they sometimes would cover the sun and get a little bit chilly, but still, nothing too cold.
Whenever the sun was out, you could feel it's warmth and it was so nice.
And that's why when I moved to the outside area I was alone no more. We were always looking for a place like this to chill and enjoy the sun and the view.
I might even have prolonged my stay in here for a little longer than I was planning at the beginning, not only because I was exhausted because of the lack of sleep and the trip. But mainly, because the sun and the view were to nice to just stop for a couple of minutes and leave.
You can see that everyone was enjoy it very much.
How could you pass by and not stop here to enjoy this beautiful view.
As I said earlier, yes, the place it is overpriced. But it is in a touristic area. So it is expected.
Raffael was a great choice to stop
I could sit here and complain about the price.
But we have to understand how the industry works, and for sure this is a touristic are, and this place is mainly for tourists.
I believe a lot of locals might not by now and then, but I am also pretty sure that they know other places that are less touristic and cheaper, with similar views.
So if you are in St. Julian's in Malta, if you are looking for a great place with an awesome Bay view, to grab a coffee, a drink or even a meal, by yourself or with someone else.
I would recommend you to stop by Raffael.
Just remember, that you will be paying that Tourist price. But in my opinion it is worth it.
