The Queens Wood Natural Reserve
Start with a coffee
Who would say that you can go out in nature for a lovely walk in the woods and then you come across with this beautiful coffee shop in the middle of the woods.
That was a huge surprise for me and I think it just made this place even better than I thought it would be.
Let's be honest, this was not the fanciest or the most high quality coffee shop, it was very rural and run down, very casual, it literally almost felt you were in someone's and grabbing a coffee.
But still it is great for a break and to enjoy a quick snack or a coffee in the middle of the nature, literally in London. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place, but since this area and these Woods are very local to me. I would definitely stop by in another visit to the woods.
Very fun details inside the coffee shop and I have visited it in the Autumn, so I sat inside. But I would say that having an iced coffee in the porch outside during a hot day, probably it is way nicer.
The coffee was nice, nothing from another world but I can't complain much about it.
Imagine the sun shining and you out here with a refreshing drinking, listening to the sounds of nature and just enjoying the moment. This is why I think it is awesome to have a place like this litereally in the woods.
If the sun is out and you want to get that vitamin D, you also have an area there where you can sit enjoying your drink and snacks and get some sun. Well, on this day, it was cloudy and the sun was not really shining through but if you pick a good day. You know you have that choice.
Walks in nature
Now to the main reason I got out, the photography walk in the Queen's Woods Natural Reserve. I have shared with you a little bit about the coffee shop I have found by chance in the woods, but the main reason I have decided to visit this place was to go out for a walk and also capture some photos of the Autumn colours and also, the fun and diverse textures you can fun in natural places like that.
One of the good things about London is that it is such a HUGE city but luckily it balances, in my opinion, very well the balance between nature and city.
I feel like when you talk about big cities, there are just a few that keep big parks and natural woods in them. Sadly, the majority of those spaces are always bought and destroyed to become residencial and other parts of the city.
But here in London, whatever area you go, you will be able to find big parks and woods, inside of the city that will allow you to stay in touch with nature.
You will always see other people doing the same you do, enjoying a nice walk and appreciating the nature. A pause, from their busy city life, that is nonstop and always go so fast.
If you take the time to really look around and see all the details you can find in the woods, you will be able to explore the awesome textures that nature create so easily.
And those textures and all the mixture between them it is a heaven to create amazing photos! So you must pay attention wherever you walk.
Hopefully we will still get some more summer days, this year, summer is taking it's time to arrive and stay but I will guarantee that as soon as I get a sunny day I will be walking to the Queen's Wood Natural reserve for a couple more walks.
So if you are ever around North London and you are looking for a place to go, remember that this could just be the ideal place for you to be.
