I have asked for dairy milk
Next time you enter a place make sure you know where you are entering and read all the big bold letters on the window. I have not done that when I have entered Ruby's of London and when I have ordered my white americano and was offered the choices of milk to have with it I have requested for dairy milk.
After I sat on the table and looked around I was feeling so embarrassed. But in the end I had my americano with oat milk.
This little area outside must be really nice on sunny, hot days. Since this is by one of the entrances for Greenwich market it is busy and there is always a lot of people around but that is one of the fun parts of it.
This is definitely not the type of place to sit and be quiet.
One of the annoying parts is that it is not allowed to smoke.
This is a very nice space, open and ample in a very nice area, you can find this place just by the Greenwich Market. So if you are in the area for a visit and you are looking for a good place to stop, specially if you are vegan, this is the place where you need to stop.
The staff was very friendly and seemed like they were having a blast. And a lot of times when you are in coffee shops and restaurants you can see that the people that work there are not really that passionate about it.
Or maybe they were just in a good mood on the day that I have visited.
Just look how beautiful and cute all this cakes and cupcakes look like. I was very tempted to go and get one of them. And I have had some amazing vegan cakes in the past.
But the majority of them were homemade. The ones I had outside usually are too crumbling for me. But they look so delicious.
And this was the reason I was so embarrassed for requesting dairy milk when I was putting my order.
Now it is time to talk a little bit about this sad coffee I was served. When the waiter came to the table and put down this cup in front of me I was shocked on how weak and sad this coffee looked.
I don't know about you but even when I order an americano I am always expecting to at least see a little bit of that foam on the top of the coffee.
I know that you mix water with the coffee but when you are preparing it, if the coffee is strong you will still see a little bit of that foam on the top.
When a cup like this is in front of me I always get a little bit sad.
My hopes where on the oat milk. And as I pour it, the coffee is not looking any better at all. This was that moment the disappointment came in and I was afraid to go for my first sip.
But I decided to be brave and dived in.
Surprise, in the end and because of the taste of the oat milk the drink itself was not the worst. I wouldn't say it was a great coffee, more of a oat milk infused with coffee smell.
Something else I discovered is that most likely Ruby's of London as the names suggest as well it is more of a "fancy"/rich people place since the only places that you can find some branches are some more of the most expensive shopping centres or department stores in the UK.
It is great that are more 100% vegan and plant base places appearing in the market and all over the place.
If you are vegan I would recommend a visit, all the cakes looked really good. Other than that I don't know if I would ever visit again.
Nothing bad to say about it, just feel that other might prefer other places to this one.
