Fun concept for a coffee place and amazing view
Before I tell you all a little bit more about this place and my visit I wanted to ask you a question. There are 2 reasons for me to be sharing this experiences with you.
First is that I love coffee and second is that I love photography. So being able to combine both and make it part of my routine and lifestyle it makes me really happy.
Now I have been thinking. When it comes to display this posts to you. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Some way that you would think my posts would be more interesting for you to read and appreciate the images?
Would you like me to create a "standard" thumbnail on my posts so you would recognise my stuff whenever it appears in your feed? Or my photos are enough for you to recognise it?
Drop any suggestions or ideas you might have if you think it will make this posts more appealing for you to read and share with others. I am open to suggestions.
Another thing is that as you clearly noticed, I am not a writer, that is not my goal and that is not my strongest suit. I am just really here talking with you all just like if I was having a chat with a friend. And I know that can be nice and acceptable for a couple of people but I believe that won't be the case for the greatest majority.
What I would like to ask in concern to that is that if you would like me to focus and learn a little bit more about writing, to put a bigger focus on that and work on creating even longer writing posts or if you would want me to cut back, write less and maybe focus on creating more images and base my stories and posts on having more images?
Also the fact that English is not my first language it might even make this writing adventure more complicated for me.
What do you think? More or less writing?
What is this place I am sitting?
Now it is time to tell you a little bit about this place and how it was my visit.
This was not planned and I probably would never find this place by myself, also this was not the first option of the day but the other place where my friend wanted to take me was closed. I do believe the view from the other place was even better. But we will get to the view later.
Bobbies Bakehouse is literally a train station control room converted into a coffee shop, as you can see in the photo above, this were the mechanisms used to change the train lanes. Very different for all the electronic equipment used nowadays. It is true that they take a lot of space inside that could be used to have more tables. But since the shop is so small and the whole concept and idea is that is an old train station control room it would also not make any sense to take them off.
I felt that created really nice vibes and atmosphere, I would just like for the place to have some secret stairs and open to a big basement area but that would also kill the fact that the view from this place is superb.
A view that you will never forget
There are a couple of tables inside and a tall bar table by the window and that's where me and my friend sat to appreciate the view while chatting and enjoying the coffee.
It was a cold day but the skies were clear and the sun was shinning bright. That was really nice. To have the opportunity to be looking at the ocean while enjoying a nice coffee.
This place is in Folkstone a very nice and cute seaside town in the South of England and the Seaside is really nice in here.
Got the wrong coffee order
My friend decided to have an Oat flat white and when I was ordering I had a blank so I have ordered a dairy one for me. I never drink flat white and to be honest this was also not the time I had one.
Because when the waiter brought the coffees over and I had my first sip, there was more foam than in many of the cappuccinos I have drank around.
I feel like the flat white here in the UK is still not really defined. So from place to place prepare it differently.
What I had here was a latte, a really nice one, but a latte. I have enjoyed a lot the coffee and I could feel the flavour.
I actually was expecting to be more expensive since it is such a small place in such a weird area but the prices were normal like any other coffee shop.
Folkstone is a nice place to visit
Now that I know about Bobbies I would definitely visit again if I was a local. I also will be back to visit my friend so maybe in my next visit I will suggest for us to go down to the seafront and take a sit there to enjoy a little bit the view, with a nice coffee and from a warm place.
Say whatever you want, but the Seaside can be enjoyed during the cold seasons as well. Specially if you are inside warm and with a great coffee and companion.
Totally recommend. If you ever stop by in Folkstone you might as well stop here to enjoy this place.
