What an excuse to take your love out for the day. Lads, take note. If you want company on a long drive to pick up car parts, sweettalk your gal into a romantic day out.

Oh, it wasn't so bad, really. We enjoyed a walk along the river in Warburton and had a nice lunch. It's really beautiful at this time of the year. We were quite chuffed to see some flyagaric mushrooms too. Flyagarics are Jamies totem funghi.

The name of the mushroom (muscaria) is reportedly derived from the Latin word musca, which means fly. It was traditionally thought that this was because Amanita muscaria was be used as an insecticide to kill flies. However, there apparently exists no firm evidence the Fly Agaric was ever used in Europe (as a fly killer) before medieval times. Rather, it has been suggested this is a linguistic reflection of the apparent narcotic potency of Amanita muscaria and its shamanic and religious past.

I loved the track along the river where people had made little nooks and seats out of rocks and concrete. The gum trees, tree ferns and deciduous trees were all happily hanging out to make for a beautiful setting. There's a railtrail here too which attracts cyclists.

In the late afternoon, as the sun was setting, the real romance began. I sat in the van for an hour whilst Jamie removed some springs from a wreck and chatted to the guy about goats. It was a pretty cool place actually. I love those places in country Victoria full of car wrecks and the like. There was even two old train carriages. I did go and chat to the goats for a bit. They were very impressed with our romantic day out.

This is the main thing we came for - the bulkhead for our Buttercup. The one we have on her is a bit crushed at one end so Jamie was thrilled to find it. Plus, the springs ended up a fifth of the price we were going to pay for them, so he even SAVED us money. Romance AND saving us money - I really am glad I married this guy!

With the savings we have made, we are heading out for nice cheap Vietnamese in Footscray (if you arent from Melbourne, you should know Footscray is the little Vietnam of Australia, and is THE place to go for pho) - we will even lash out on spring rolls.

Jamie wont let me say that he never treats me to a day out, so I wont say that at all 😉Nah, really, it was nice to spend some time together.

We love each other so.
