Frankly, it’s the first ever I watched Barong Keris Dance. I was so lucky to watched it in GWK, Bali. It was a live performance. You know, Barong Keris Dance is one of Bali Island’s most iconic-drama and for sure, it’s also a most iconic performance in Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK). I highly recommend this dance to watch if you visit Bali Island.

As I was telling you in previous post that we visited GWK. After coming to look the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue, we went down to the Amphitheater. We wanted to watch a live performance. Upon arriving there at 10.55 a.m, and finding that Barong Keris Dance would start soon.

We entered the amphitheater quickly to have a perfect seats. We just took a seat and watch the dance. There were not so many visitors watching the dance.

As I read on gwkbali explains that Barong Keris is a dance-drama telling about Waladeri Kingdom. The kingdom was ruled by Dasapati, a king who had two sons named Sunda and Upasunda. Both them had great power and ambition to rule the world. God Indra heard about their power and ambition. He felt so anxious, then he sent a pretty angel, Nilatoma to tempt Sunda and Upasunda’s meditation.

You know, the dance is a breathtaking performance. We really enjoyed it. We watched from the start to the end. I was so happy and grateful to watch that such a great dance performance.

After the dance finished, we went down to the stage and took some pictures with the dancers. My wife stood among the beautiful dancers. I took some pictures for her.

She looked so happy to stand among them. It’s for sure a great moment. I shot some photos.

I took my turn as well. My wife shot some photos for me. I stand between to male dancers. They wore wonderful clothes.

After watching the dance, we were heading to exit gate to go to other destinations in Bali. Along the way out, we bought some gifts at the gift shops.

I really love GWK, Bali. They manage everything very well. We were very satisfied to visit this place.

We also bought some cold drink. It was extremely hot that day.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park is a wonderful place to visit in Bali. You may pick it as a must visit destination when you visit this beautiful Island. Yeah, Bali in Indonesia.

Warm regard,
