Hello everyone, Hope you are having a good time ...
From Bangladesh to Ukraine, from Asia to Europe; a long journey. That time I was not aware where I am going, will survive here or not, no idea about the city, culture, and people. When I was in flight, I was not sure what exactly I am going, where I will stay, nothing.
But now it's been almost 2 and a half year, I am living in this large city. Sometimes lost in the crowd, sometimes isolated, sometimes mixed with the culture but this is me...
Kharkiv is a large city with a small population, I guess 20% of this population is foreigners I mean foreign students. Kharkiv city has some amazing cultural stuff, though most of the people here are communists I guess.
Sorry, I still feel I don't know the city fully yet, I need more time to become familiar with every inch of the city.
Street Flower market :
Hmm, one of the amazing things I have explored in Kharkiv city. Basically, Ukrainians love flowers and I never have seen this type of temporary flower market before. I have seen flower shops, nursery, luxurious flower shops even temporary occasional street flower shops but never saw this type of shop in any country.
Every day from the village, these people come here to sell fresh flowers, maximum locations are infront of Metro stations, infront of supermarkets or large streets where many people move here and there in every minute.
These shops start from the early morning and stay till night.
Different types of flowers are available depends on seasons. Now Spring is here so different colors of tulips, hyacinth, primula Vulgaris, daffodils and their plants are available.
I have never seen so many colors of tulips and primroses together. Also a few Cyclamen flowers available here, all are mostly cold country flower and doesn't available in Bangladesh.
In the pictures, you will see some pansy flower plants as well, they cost almost approx 2$. Not very cheap. Each tulip cost 25-35 UAH depends on color and shades.
Every day, these shopkeepers come from the village to the city to sell fresh flowers. Sometimes their business runs well and they are able to sell all the flowers, sometimes don't.
If you order, they will make a nice bookey for you according to your choice. But flowers here are cheap comparing to the flower shop. In summer, you will find different colors of roses here.
In Bangladesh, we have flower shops but not this type of flower market. It looks like flowers Bazar like vegetables Bazar.
You can also bargain with the price here.
I don't know about other country but for me, this market is interesting and thought to share with you guys. The entire experience was new to me and whenever I go there I feel good exploring different flowers.
You will find numerous flower shops in Kharkiv city especially during spring and summer. When I first came here I used to buy flowers a lot, now rarely buy flowers. I prefer to buy plants now for my home.
I hope you have enjoyed exploring this old traditional style flower market with me. It's not a very fancy special market, but I find worthy to write about it.
