Trip to Portugal - Lapa dos Dinheiros, Serra da Estrela

Lapa dos Dinheiros is a parish in the municipality of Seia, Serra da Estrela. It is located on the hillside on the north side of the Serra da Estrela and has the closest villages S. Romão and Valezim.

Built along the course of the Caniça stream, with pure waters, the river beach of Lapa dos Dinheiros or Praia da Caniça is a small bathing area perfectly integrated into nature, surrounded by steep slopes with forest and large rocks.

Due to its privileged geographical situation, more like a balcony on the hillside of the Serra, the landscape that is seen from it is so vast and dazzling, that it is lost on the horizon, glimpsing to Caramulo and Lousã.

With a mirror of immensely clear water it makes it very desirable for bathing, being a very accessible and supervised beach.

This river beach, with good support infrastructures, is perfectly integrated into nature, in an area of great biodiversity where the Souto da Lapa stands out, which has a valuable set of centenary chestnut trees.

The rugged relief of the valley causes the stream to form, in the immediate vicinity, a succession of small waterfalls.
