On my trip to the Veneto region to get to Venice I passed through Mestre, which in theory is still a municipality of Venice but has nothing to do with the beautiful lagoon city of calli and gondolas.

Apart from a few historic palaces that nonetheless recall the influence of the Venetian Republic, Mestre is made up of chaos and lots of traffic and pollution.

Since I parked my car here, I wanted to take a tour and bring you some photos, especially of Piazza Ferretto, which is dominated by the medieval clock tower that is quite famous throughout Italy.

Mestre is most famous for its station, which is one of the main railway stations for the whole region.

However, let's say that I liked Piazza Ferretto a lot because I found it to be a fairly lively square of people where I was able to have a very good aperitif.

I was also able to admire for a few hours the large San Giuliano park which is located right between Mestre and Venice.

And then in the end I took the train that connects Mestre to Venice, a very convenient service to get to the lagoon city in a short time, avoiding the parking lots near the station which are too expensive.

I hope you have found this post interesting enough but tomorrow follow me because I will bring a post about Venice since I have visited it very thoroughly.
