It had been my dream to visit Moscow for such a long time but it wasn't so easy to get the visa, so when I got a chance to go there on a business trip, I started to jump up and down (inside of course). Such a great opportunity!

I went there with 3 other colleagues and we planned our evening activities way in advance. We were supposed to stay there for 5 days but I stayed with one of my colleagues during the weekend as well. I must say that it was a great trip and I got to see so many amazing places in this exciting city.

What is the easiest way to see important landmarks without taking too much effort? A boat trip!

One evening we planned a boat trip on the river Moskva. We chose a boat with a dinner option and it was such an amazing experience.

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the river. The city grew during the 12th century along the river's winding banks, so a boat trip is the most scenic way to soak in its sites while avoiding the city's rush and traffic jams.

When we saw the boat we were a little bit surprised as we understood that it saw its better days already. We braced ourselves and boarded this retro-style two-tier boat hoping it was safe. Surprisingly, there weren't that many tourists which was great. We enjoyed our food and got on the deck.

It was a cold evening with strong wind, so we kept going back inside and to the deck all over again. Luckily, we got some tea too!

Let's enjoy some views of this 800 years old city!

Everything in Moscow, a city of 12 million people, is monumental. The buildings are huge, the parks are so big that you can walk for hours in one direction, the metro stations are the most beautiful in the world and the traffic is horrible.

I wish we were staying at this hotel 😊

Stalin's Seven Sisters is the name given to a group of skyscrapers with characteristic architecture. It is also called a wedding cake because of its construction. These buildings dominate Moscow's skyline.

Here is the modern part of the city...

The sunset was so beautiful. We were however surprised with the temperature changes. It was 37 degrees Celsius during day and as soon as the sun was down we had to put our jumpers on as it was so cold.

There are many bridges across the river in Moscow...

You can see that there were always some boats around us...

And we are coming to the older part of the city and soon we will reach the Kremlin.

The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is the tallest Orthodox church and it's so beautiful! It was demolished under Stalin, and then rebuilt after the fall of communism.

And we are coming to the Kremlin and its churches.

The large white building is The Grand Kremlin Palace and the tallest tower is called Ivan the Great Bell Tower

Our boat trip is now coming to the end. We loved it and if you happen to be in Moscow you should definitely go on a boat trip too!

I hope that you have enjoyed our tour of Moscow from the river Moskva.

Thank you for visiting,

Cheers!
