What is your favourite beach destination in the Philippines? I'd bet you'll immediately think of Boracay. Even among tourists who've been in the Philippines, Boracay remains to be on their top 5 destination. So let's talk about Boracay for a bit. When was the last time you've been in Boracay? How was your last stay there? Mind you, I have a few friends in mind who go here often, almost every year. And I don't wonder why. There are many reasons why this destination remains to be a favourite for both local and international travellers.
Here are my top reasons for going to Boracay this 2020.
#1 - Voted as the "Best Island in the World" 2019 Readers Choice Award - Condé Nast Traveler readers ranked the 30 best islands in the world that are outside the United States, and the Boracay Island ranked first in Asia besting Cebu, Penang, Palawan, and Bali.
#2 - Picture Perfect Beaches - The long stretch of white sand, the gorgeous beach lined with beach bars and hotels that stretches for four kilometres along the island, and you can either spend your time walking along the shore, or you can also find your own quiet spot to spend some hours of 'me-time'. Some highly recommended beach spots are - The White Beach, Puka Beach, Bulabog Beach, Diniwid Beach, Banyugan Beach, and Punta Bunga Beach.
#3 - Kite Surfing - Have you tried Kite Surfing? Boracay is just perfect for those who would like to do some windsurfing, a popular activity the draws many travellers from around the world who are also keen on learning this exhilarating extreme sport. I have never tried this yet, but when I go back to Boracay I will surely take a video of me doing this. Yey! Fun!
#4 - The Fabulous Nightlife Scene - Whether you're into just listening to acoustic music, or maybe some reggae beat, or dancing and drinking the night away, Boracay has a perfect place for you. Get to know the locals or meet new friends, explore the pubs and bars, and have a blast of your life. That's what we usually do when we are in Boracay.
#5 - The Sunrise and Sunset - Boracay has the most amazing sunrise and sunsets. Especially when you're on the White Beach. So when you're at the beach, make sure to wait for the golden hour and pull out your camera and take a photo of the beach with the glorious sunrise or sunset as your back drop, guaranteed picture perfect shots.
