Hi, Dear Steemit community,
Greetings from Toronto a city where, you know, are living people different part of the world. And today I would immerse my post into the China town wherein these days Chinese community in Toronto have celebrated their own new year's eve.
Actually, it is not the first time I attend a Chinese new year's eve. Years ago I was in Sydney's China town. Let's focus the one recently attended and coming back to Toronto where now it is winter time and cold enough. Sometimes it is not easy to take photos with gloves off because it was cold but fortunately, it was possible. The celebration in Toronto was last Saturday and Sunday. Saturday in Dragon city Mall and Sunday in China town center. They are both very close in Spadina Avenue.
On the road, the exhibition of the dragon and the drummers which should have the purpose of remove bad or evil. Both days attractive was the exhibition of that dance around the intersection between Spadina Avenue and Dundas street and see the dragons going inside the retails or shops.
In Sydney due to the weather and probably its larger Chinese community compared to the one in Toronto. Some roads in China town are completely dedicated to the event.
Also, the difference is based on the weather: in Toronto as I was saying and you know it is cold while in Sydney it is summer season. (At that time I was just on T-shirt).
Plus It was the year of the sheep when I was in Sydney and this year is the one of the pig according to the Chinese calendar. For who has never been to China or in general in Eastern Asia it is still something to further discover. Talking nothing but me.
Best Regards
