After the tragic death of Tomáš Baťa in 1932, his brother Jan Antonín Baťa took over the company and the development of the company and the region continued unabated. Unfortunately, it was interrupted by the war, followed by nationalization and communist rule.

The name Tomáš Bata is associated with many things in Zlín: the main street, Tomáš Baťa Avenue, Tomáš Baťa University, Tomáš Baťa Hospital. Tomáš Baťa is simply a phenomenon.

I promised rays and pelicans in a comment yesterday, so here's a little taste. The shorttail cownose ray can be petted and fed by visitors (if they wash their hands and buy approved food beforehand) and the pelicans are in a free-range enclosure where they also interact with visitors (and occasionally harass them :) ).

Včera jsem v nějakém komentáři slíbil rejnoky a pelikány, takže tady je malá ochutnávka. Rejnoky si návštěvníci můžou pohladit i krmit (pokud si předem umyjí ruce a zakoupí schválené krmivo) a pelikáni jsou ve volném výběhu, kde jsou i v kontaktu s návštěvníky (a občas je i obtěžují :) )

Víc fotek zvířat použiju průběžně - snad ještě není všem dnům konec :)
