This is actually my first entry in this platform and I wish to share my travel experiences with you all. I hope you get to learn a few things from this entry that may be of help to you.

Have you ever been stopped in a lonely place by your vehicle before? If it has never happened to you congratulations to you and let's pray it doesn't ever happen to you. If you have had this experience before, you may likely relate more with this entry as you will understand my plight more deeply. However, whether or not you have had this experience before, I will encourage you to read through this entry as you may learn one or two lessons from it.

FROM LAGOS STATE TO DELTA STATE
It was a stressful journey for me and the other persengers who boarded the same vehicle with me traveling from Lagos state to Delta state. Before we started the journey, the driver had checked every necessary thing and confidently certified the car fit for the journey. However, after covering a space of about 200kms, the car stopped on the way accidently unannounced without any previous sign. In other to save the passengers from fears and panics, It was a good thing the driver never disclosed what had happened to anyone in the vehicle until he managed to control the situation and stopped finally at the corner of the express road. We all got out of the vehicle at the promptings of the driver and he opened the burnet of the car with the aim of finding out what the problem was. He checked round the burnet together with some passengers and the fault was discovered.

As we got stranded at the middle of no where, we started waving at almost every vehicle that passes our way. Fortunately for us, divine providence brought a mechanic who immediately confirmed that the TIMING BET of the car had cut off. This was the exact reason why the car stopped instantly unannounced.
To be able to fix this problem, the mechanic said the car must necessarily be tolled to his workshop. Chai! Where are we going to get a towing vehicle? This is another serious problem for us. As we waited for one for some time to no avail, one of the passengers suggested that we push the car to the mechanic's shop. Even though the workshop is about 3kms away, every one subscribed to this suggestion unanimously without an objection and we all started pushing the vehicle. Even the ladies in the vehicle pitied us at some point when they saw how stressed we were, cuppled with the fact that we were also hungry and they us joined in the struggle of pushing the vehicles. I was particularly impressed by the strength of one of the ladies.

After pushing the vehicle for about 2kms distance, a towing vehicle was sported and we were all relieved.
At the workshop, we spent about five hours before the mechanic was able to replace the TIMING BET of the CAR. I am glad our vehicle is in good shape again. However, I am still very far from my destination and everywhere is already dark. Will I ever arrive my destination tonight? If it was possible I would have boarded another vehicle earlier. Everywhere is so lonely and the vehicles passing by are all fully loaded.

My mother was so worried and was calling me at intervals having learnt about the happenstances. I too was worried especially because the country is not safe security wise. In other to calm my mum's fear and also to save myself from the hands of people who have subscribed completely to deviant acts and people who are capable of perpetrating evil acts, I decided to stop by in Benin and spend the night with one of my class mates who works in Uniben. I hope to continue my journey tomorrow.
LESSONS FROM THIS EXPERIENCE
For the sake of safety, whenever your car stops you in an express way or a busy environment, endeavor to place signs to alert other road users.
As a driver, when you notice anything wrong while driving, do not immediately inform the passengers. They may get terrified and you may also loose track eventually.

As a mechanic, do not work under a vehicle at the corner of an express way if you value your life.
As a passenger, always be patient with your driver especially in the midst of unforseen circumstances. Also, do not stay in a faulty vehicle at the corner of an express way.
Always know when to stop and when to continue because wisdom is profitable and heaven they say helps those who help themselves.
No matter what happens to you in life always give thanks to God who knows and sees all things. His will will always be done if you place your trust in him.
