I am from a beautiful country Croatia, a country with an amazing coast well know around the world and which millions of tourist are visiting every year. I have traveled all around Croatia and just yesterday visited rural parts which are not known to many Croatians or tourists, this trip motivated me to look into my photos and videos albums and to give you one extensive and detailed travelogue. All the photos and videos I will share in this post are mine and made by me.
So here we go:)
I will start with the Croatian pearl -Dubrovnik and coastal part
Dubrovnik is an ideal scenery for both historical and fantasy films. Its preservation and beauty do not need lot of special effects :) it is large outdoor filming set.
In last few years lot of Hollywood blockbusters are filmed in Dubrovnik; Game of thrones, Star wars, Robin hood....
You all know about these series but I am going to show you video made by me, i am a video producer and I do this things for the living :)
Ok, Croatia has more than 1000 Islands and long sea shore I will not share all those beautiful small villages and hidden beaches but Ill will try to give you a big picture and some selection.
First I would like to go to the south and the place where my family has a summer house - TRPANJ
Here is a video I made, including drone footages. I used dji phantome 3 drone for the aerial footage and dji osmo for ground footage.
Peljesac has an ancient maritime tradition and is the home of many captains famous for their skill and bravery on the open sea. It is also well known since ancient times for the fine vineyards, and the excellent sorts of wine, "Dingac" and "Postup".
Unlike other parts of southern Dalmatia which have been wholly given over to tourism, the Peljesac Peninsula retains a thriving agricultural business, especially in winemaking.
Trpanj is just about an hour and a half drive from Dubrovnik.
Trpanj is the most relaxed place I ever visited and it’s a glorious place to visit for many reasons.
these beautiful and friendly animals.
The donkeys are not so common in Dalmatia as they used to be… There are only about 1000 of them left in the coastal region of Dalmatia and one survey in 1998 had listed 8000 donkeys total in Croatia . Back in 1937, there were 40 000 of them!
There are so many of them, from public ones to the hidden ones, it is practically paradise for the natic people and the ones who like to swim in crystal clear water(The Adriatic sea)
This is me and my family on the boat trip :)
Here is the video of that very boat cruising around.
I dont need to mention that Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea is still full of fish so there are competitions in Big game fishing in many small villages held every year. In this video which I made for Croatian tv is shown fishing on Tuna.
Here is short video sequence which is part of a commercial I made for Croatian touristic board of one small place on the Adriatic coast,
ok, these are the modern sports but sometimes in this mall villages you can see old people playing more traditional sports like bowling (boce), for the ones who are not familiar with this sport here is another video of mine :)
Thanks to my job Video making) I travel a lot!
now we are at the Northen part of Croatia coast in Opatija Riviera
Opatija Riviera is the oldest tourist destination in this part of Europe.
Opatija became popular in the 19th century by the Austro-Hungarian elite, the Opatija Riviera remains a destination that exemplifies style and class.
Šibenik, most of Croatia Steeamians are coming from this town, situated in the middle of Craotia coast.
For this place, there is a saying when God shared the pieces of land to the nations nothing has left for Croats so he had to give a piece of haven to them, Plitvice lakes are exactly how you imagine paradise to look like:)
Here is another video clip ,a siquence from another video I made for my client about plitvice lakes:)
The continental parts of Croatia
Although most tourists visit the coastal part of Croatia, the continental part is filled with many beauties and surprises....
we have hundreds of medieval castles
saw how the perfect ham(prcuto) is made
The adventure is in every step on the way:)
I live in Zagreb, it is the biggest town in Croatia and a quarter of the Croatian population lives here about 1 million people, it is very comfortable for life.
Zagreb is excellent geographically located few hours drive from Budapest, Vienna, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Venice. 15 minutes to the closest ski resort and 1h from the sea riviera.
Has a lake Jarun as oasis of nature in the concrete jungle :)
Here is situated the most famous whale of all ;) Blue whale
Here is another short edited video to feel the Zagreb heartbeat :)
This time I will not talk about Croatia cuisine but I can tell you it is a mix of the Mediterranean and middle Europe with some Turkish influence :)
Mediterranean example :)
Ok by now you realized that I love my country and that is a lot to see and to do when you come here. And to eat of course :)
So my dear Steemians you are welcome and consider yourself invited,
Hope to see you here one day, and you can contact me for any help or advice you may need.
Big love from CROATIA!
